Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 25-year- old man, Yasuru Abdullahi, before an Ogba Chief Magistrate Court, Lagos, for allegedly biting off a lady’s breast during a street brawl.

The accused fought the complainant, Miss Nkechi Anosike, over a yet-to-be-determined reason.

But the Police Prosecutor, Kenrich Nomayo, told the court that the accused had allegedly made sexual advances at the complainant who turned him down.

The police said the incident happened on Sunday, 22 August, 2021, at Alhaji Urhi Street, Oregun, in Lagos.

The prosecutor said during the fight, the accused grabbed hold of the defendant’s breast and bit off her nipple.

He said the complaint was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was treated and discharged after which she reported the incident to the police.

“The police arrested, detained and charged the accused to court,” he said.

The accused who was arraigned on a three-count charge of sexual harassment, assault and breach of peace, pleaded not guilty.

Nomayo told the court that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 245 and 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs Elizabeth Adeola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum, who must be gainfully employed and have evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State government.

The case was adjourned until September 15, 2021 for mention, while the defendant was remanded in correctional centre at Kirikiri town, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
