Kano State police command has arrested a 24-year-old woman, Hafusat Surajo, who stabbed to death a middle-aged man, Nafiu Hafix Gorondo, over an allegation that he (Gorondo) prevented her from committing suicide.

While speaking to the press, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Husani Gumel, disclosed that Hafusat confessed that she killed Gorondo because he did not allow her to kill herself.

It was learnt that Gorondo was living with Hafusat in her matrimonial house as a driver and was also assisting her husband in doing other tasks he might be assigned.

The CP added that after the woman had killed Gorondo, in an attempt to cover up so that people would not know that Gorondo was killed, her husband called for the assistance of a man to wash the body.

He hinted that after the body had been washed, the couple notified Gorondo’s family that he (Gorondo) had died and they should come and convey his corpse for burial, but on arrival, the family asked that the cloth used to cover the corpse be removeiral Story Of Woman Who Stabbed Man To Death For Stopping Her From Committing Suicide

In another development, the police commissioner said the command had discovered that one Bahago Afah of Kuka Bulukiya was among the 662 repentant thugs that went back to crime.

Gumel said: “It is with consistent efforts that we were able to identify a total of 72 of these brigand followers of Bahago Afah who, in one of the recent outings, robbed a resident, Dan’azimi Dala Rijiya Biyu, of N2 million cash and removed a golden ring from his daughter.

“We are resisting dining with the devil; they are enemies of peace, and accordingly, we declare these 72 individuals enemies of the peace.

“There is no more room for repentance, as some of them were tested and found not to be trustworthy.

“My dear colleagues and members of the media, please, I implore you to use all available means to reach out to them.

“We are proud to say that so far, thuggery is diminishing in the state. “There are several other arrests, prosecutions and recovery of significant quantities of illegal weapons and illicit drugs, etc. We have also neutralised several criminal networks planning to disrupt the peace.”
