Two persons sustained serious injuries on Thursday early morning in an accident involving an articulated Truck and commercial bus with registration number BDJ-250XG. the impact which led to damage to the bus. While another unsuspecting Tanker with registration number AAA- 799 XX laden with 45,000 litters of PMS had a collision with the two ill-fated vehicles due to poor visibility at Otedola bridge inward Berger, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu,
Permanent Secretary, LASEMA, in a statement confirmed the incident in Lagos.
Dr Oke-Osanyintolu said that the accident happened at 6:00 a.m. on Otedola bridge inward Berger section of the expressway.
He attributed the accident to brake failure in the truck and loss of control by the driver who rammed into the commercial bus that was ahead of him.
PS LASEMA further said that upon arrival at the scene, investigation conducted by the LRT revealed that the Truck while on motion ram into the ongoing commuter bus, from behind, the impact which led to damage to the bus. While another unsuspecting Tanker with registration number AAA- 799 XX laden with 45,000 litters of PMS had a collision with the two ill-fated vehicles due to poor visibility.
No loss of life, however 2 adult sustained serious injuries due to the impact of the crash and has been taken to Trauma center for medical treatment.
The Agency’s LRT, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Nigeria police Ojodu Berger division are on ground to ensure safety measures.
Effort ongoing to evacuate the affected Vehicles off the road.
