Tinubu-Shettima 2023: Diaspora Directorate Intensifies Its Campaign | The Legend News

The Presidential ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, received a huge boost on January 17th, 2023 in Abuja, Nigeria.

The Diaspora Directorate of the Tinubu Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) intensified its advocacy drive towards the actualisation of a Tinubu Presidency by mobilising Nigeria Diaspora Groups to donate generously to the PCC.

Major Diaspora support groups and high net-worth individuals based in the Diaspora donated items worth millions of naira to the PCC at the second donation event organised by the Diaspora Directrate. The groups (and high net-worth persons) included Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Movement – Diaspora (ABAT Movement); Progressive Solidarity for Asiwaju (Diaspora PSA); Lagosians in Diaspora for Asiwaju (LIDA); and *Otunba Oladapo Habeeb, founder & CEO of Dareth Health Care, UK.

The Directorate has promised to deliver close to 10 million votes for the APC, both directly and indirectly through proxies. Nigerians in the Diaspora with PVCs are being mobilised to return home to cast their votes while those without PVCs have been urged to vote by proxy and support the campaign with internet tools, political logistics and campaign paraphernalia.

The second edition of the donation event tagged “No time to waste time” was hosted by Prince Ade Omole, Director of the Diaspora Directorate and dignitaries in attendance included Hon James Abiodun Faleke, Secretary of the APC PCC; Engr Yusuf Hussaini, Deputy Director DD; H.E. Ambassador Hajara Salim, Nigeria High Commissioner to Malaysia; Hajiya Zainab Ibrahim, APC Deputy National Women Leader; Hon Durosinmi Meseko, APC Chieftain; Engr (Mrs) Bisoye Coker Odusote, GM/CEO, LASIMRA; Alh (Dr) A. A. Mai Agogo, Director, Community Support Directorate; Prof Ali Alao; Barr Obiageli Nwufor; Alh AbdulRasaq Danjuma; Prince Adewale Akinyele; Hadjia Rabia Jennifer Surano; Akogun Banji Ojo (Amsterdam); Otunba Femi Soluade, Barr Olufemi Ogunjimi (UK); Prof Kayode Familoni (USA); Prof Olusola Aina (Asia); Alh Rasaq Bodunrin (Canada); Hon Moses Ebudola (UAE); Queen Lateefat Oniyide; Hon Oyin Okewoye; Hajia Aisha Abdullahi; Hajiya Jamila Mohammed; Hon Antonia Akinlagun; Blessing Moses; David Benji among others.

Concluding the event, the Diaspora Directorate appealed to Nigerians in the Diaspora to add value to the Tinubu Shettima campaign by:

1. Volunteer Your Time: This can include making phone calls, knocking on doors, etc

2. Donate: Every campaign needs resources, especially campaign tools and materials

3. Use Your Skills: If you have expertise in areas such as social media, graphic design, or data analysis, you can offer to help the PCC with those aspects of the campaign

4. Get the Word Out: Spread the word about the campaign/Action Plan through social media, by talking to your friends and family, and by participating in online discussions about the issues

5. Offer to Host an Event: You can host a campaign event or a meet-and-greet event at your home or a venue close to you

6. Be a Volunteer Spokesperson: If you are comfortable speaking in public, you can offer to give talks or make media appearances on behalf of the campaign
