Akinyemi Abiodun, an 18-year-old notorious tricycle snatcher, has been paraded by the Ondo State Amotekun after he was arrested in Lagos State for allegedly selling a stolen tricycle for N300,000, Vanguard Newspaper reports. The Ondo State Amotekun Commander, Chief Akinyemi Abiodun who was paraded the suspect on Monday revealed that three of the suspect’s friends who were accompanying him were also arrested and he gave their names as Dube, Emma and Ope.
However, while the suspect was paraded, he confessed to the crime and noted that he was the gang leader of the group and that was not the first time that they had been stealing tricycles from innocent people and selling it in Lagos State for at least N300,000. He continued by saying that though they successfully sold the last tricycle that they sold, he hasn’t gotten the share of his own money yet. The suspect said, “We stole the tricycle and sold it for N300K but I did not given my share before I was arrested.”
Continuing speaking, Akinyemi Abiodun, noted that the tricycle rider was tricked out of the Ondo town, while his three friends hired him but were overpowered and pushed off of the tricycle.
Nevertheless, the Amotekun Commander, Chief Adeleye disclosed that his men tracked the tricycle to a location in Lagos state, where it was kept through the communication device procured by the state government.
