Quick Action By Emergency Responders Averts Tanker Blast At Stadium Bridge | The Legend News

In a shocking incident, a fully loaded diesel tanker overturned at Stadium Bridge, Stadium Bus Stop, inward Ojuelegba, but miraculously resulted in no loss of life or injuries.

The tanker, carrying 45,000 liters of diesel, fell sideways after detaching from the tanker head due to a faulty turntable while ascending the bridge.

The incident which was confirmed by Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu,
Permanent Secretary, LASEMA .

Emergency responders, including LASEMA, Lagos Fire Service, LASTMA, FRSC, and NPF, swiftly arrived at the scene to contain the situation. The spilled diesel was quickly blanketed, and safety measures were put in place to ensure a smooth operation.

According to the PS LASEMA, he said “The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of proper vehicle maintenance and safety protocols. An empty tanker is expected to arrive for transloading, and the operation is ongoing”.
