Seyi Tinubu Leads Generous Donation Of ₦500 Million To Support Flood Victims In Borno State | The Legend News

In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, Seyi Tinubu, the son of Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, visited Borno State on Friday to express his sympathy for the victims of the recent devastating floods that struck Maiduguri, the state capital. Accompanied by his brother, friends, and associates, Seyi Tinubu announced a substantial donation of over ₦500 million aimed at alleviating the suffering of those affected by the disaster.

During his visit, Seyi emphasized that this initiative was just the beginning of a broader effort to support the young people and families impacted by the floods. He reassured the residents of Borno that the intervention would persist until the state, particularly Maiduguri, could recover and thrive once more.

This visit followed a recent trip by President Bola Tinubu and other dignitaries to Borno State, where they expressed their solidarity with the local population. Addressing Governor Babagana Zulum and other key officials at the state government house, Seyi commended the resilience of the Borno people, who have faced numerous challenges, including insecurity, in recent years.

Seyi Tinubu stated, “We are here today, not just as representatives of our family but as members of a collective effort of young Nigerians to bring hope and relief to those who need it most. This is a moment for solidarity, compassion, and immediate action.”

He acknowledged the rich history of Maiduguri and Borno State, praising the community’s strength in overcoming adversity. “Despite the issues of the past few years, they have braved all odds, which is why such a painful national tragedy that befell the state deserves our collective effort, support, and prayers. Even more, it deserves our active collaboration and contributions.”

Inspired by his father’s call for private sector involvement in aiding affected communities, Seyi, along with his wife Layal, his brother Yinka, and numerous private sector partners through the Noella Foundation, mobilized quickly to address the urgent needs of those displaced by the floods.

The generous donation included essential food items such as cartons of spaghetti, tomato paste, groundnut oil, salt, bags of flour, rice, maize, and thousands of loaves of bread. Additionally, the donation comprised 10,000 mosquito nets, blankets, mattresses, kettles, wrappers, buckets, mats, sanitary pads, and wash kits.

Furthermore, critical medical supplies were provided to cover prescriptions for nearly 50,000 children and adults, including antimalarials, anti-hypertensives, antiparasitics, anti-diabetics, analgesics, and antibiotics.

Seyi Tinubu’s visit and substantial contributions serve as a beacon of hope for the people of Borno State, reinforcing the message that they are not alone in their struggle to recover from this natural disaster.
