At last, elegant and courageous Senator Natasha Akpoti has been sworn into the Senate today, Thursday, 2nd November,2023, as an elected Senator of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria. It’s a dream come true for the people’s Senator, of Kogi State who described her as the divinely anointed lioness of Nigeria politics.
Senator Natasha Akpoti, fought a lifetime political battle to earn her seat at the Red Chamber. She defeated the incumbent governor of the State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the February 25th polls. But she had to fight harder in the Election Tribunal and finally the Appeal Court to receive her people’s mandate from Kogi Central Senatorial District.
Her victory and successful swearing today is been widely celebrated within and outside the state, as many never believe that she will triumph over the Governor Bello.
“I’m glad to celebrate this joyous moment with you, your immediate constituents (Kogi Central), Kogi State, and Nigeria at large because I want Kogi State to be heard for positive reasons.
“I’m so positive that your era will bring everything good to Nigeria because you are going to contribute everything you’ve got to be heard and known for the best, In Shaa Allah. I wish you the best”, said Dr. Aroma Okeme.
Dr. Okeme , a staunch supporter of Senator Akpoti, added, “I became a serious fan of this uncommon woman and dogged fighter because of you in 2018, and today, I say congratulations to us and everyone associated with her. It’s a win for everyone, especially women who believe in politics”.

After her swearing in today Senator Natasha Akpoti exchanged hand shake pleasure with President of the Senate, Senator Godwin Akpabio after Her oath of office.
Meanwhile, the governor of Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello has conceded defeat and congratulate Senator Natasha Akpoti on her victory from Appeal Court. “Congratulations Barrister Natasha H Akpoti (Uduaghan). God bless Kogi State.God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, his congratulatory massage from the government house read.
