An IVECO tanker with registration number MAG 926XA fully loaded with 40,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) was involved in a lone accident at Osolo Way Inward Ajao Estate, Isolo in Lagos State.
According to Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu PS LASEMA, in a statement issued.
It states “Upon arrival of the Lasema response team at the scene of the incident, it was discovered that a IVECO tanker with registra166tion number MAG 926XA fully loaded with 40,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) was involved in a lone accident .
“Information gathered revealed that the cause of the incident was due to mechanical fault (brake failure) while at speed before suddenly crashing into the road side gutter and getting stuck resulting in the blockage of the entire road.
He further said that there was no loss of life nor injuries sustained to the motor boy neither the driver of the tanker at the accident scene.
The owner of the tanker had been contacted immediately and has arranged for an empty tanker for Transloading of the product, to ease the recovery process.
Heavy duty equipment has been dispatched to the scene to move the tanker once the trans loading is completed.
The Lasema response team alongside the Lagos state fire and rescue service and LASTMA rescue team are on ground managing the situation while all the vehicles have been successfully diverted.
