At approximately 12:50pm of Sunday,22nd,2023, the LASEMA’s Cobra team arrived at Causeway Ijora to assess the situation involving a fallen gas tanker. The tanker, bearing the registration number LAR-463-YD, had veered off and toppled at the middle of the road. The incident is presumed to be a result of the poor road conditions caused by excessive water accumulation.
Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties thus far. In order to safeguard against any potential ignition, the Cobra team, in collaboration with the Lagos State fire service, has implemented necessary safety measures.
Working in close coordination, the responding units include the Cobra team, Lastma, Lagos State Government (LASG), and the Nigerian Police. These entities are collectively dedicated to expedite the recovery operation for the affected gas tanker.
All parties involved are actively working towards a successful recovery, ensuring the swift resolution of this incident.
