The accident pictures from LASEMA.
At 11:01pm of Saturday 14th,2023, an emergency distress call was received through the agency’s 112/767 toll-free lines. LASEMA immediately activated the Lagos State Emergency Response Plans and arrived at the scene by 22:17hrs.
The fatal accident occurred at Gbagada by Charlie Boy Bus Stop in Lagos State.
According to the statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, LASEMA,Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu.
It states “Upon arrival, it was observed that a white Mazda commercial bus, with registration number JJJ-844YA, carrying 18 passengers, lost control and collided with a moving truck while heading towards Ajah from Oshodi.
“Tragically, three passengers (2 adult males and 1 adult female) lost their lives in the incident, while the remaining passengers sustained various injuries.
“The agency’s paramedics provided Pre-Hospital care to three of the injured passengers who were then transported to Gbagada General Hospital for further treatment.
He further said currently, the bodies of the deceased have been packed and are awaiting the arrival of the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) to be transported to the morgue.
To prevent any further incidents, a Light Tow Truck was dispatched to recover the affected vehicle from the busy road.
Present at the scene are LASEMA Response Team, LASEMA Pre-Hospital Care Team, NPF, and LASG Fire and Rescue Services.
Recovery operations are still ongoing and further updates will be provided,he added.
