According to a report by BBC News Pidgin, men of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested a Lecturer, Dr. Fred Ekpa Ayokhai and his daughter who were captured on camera brutalizing a young lady.
It was earlier reported by The Scoper Media that a lecturer and his children stormed the home of a 20-year-old lady who got into a fight with the lecturer’s daughter over a man. In a video shared by a tweep, Agatha Akaahar, the man and his family dragged the lady’s outside her home half dressed and started flogging her.
In another video, the lecturer was seen tearing the lady’s cloth with a pair of scissors. They took the lady to an unknown location and brutalized her. The lady pleaded for mercy but no one listened to her.
The video drew the attention of the Nasarawa Police Command and an investigation commenced, leading to the arrest of some of the suspects who were seen in the video.
Speaking with BBC News Pidgin, the State Police PRO, DSP Ramhan Nansel disclosed that two of the suspects namely; Dr. Fred Ekpa Ayokhai, a lecturer at the Federal University of Lafia in the Department of History and International Studies and his 18-year-old daughter Emmanuella Ekpa Ayokhai who is also a student of the same University have both been arrested in connection with the case.
The State Police PRO further disclosed that the lecturer’s son, Praise and other suspects involved in the beating and brutalizing of the young lady are still at large. He added that the Police have learnt from investigation that the suspects brutalized the victim because of a disagreement that ensued between the victim and the lecturer’s daughter over a man’s phone number.
