The National Universities Commission (NUC) has embarked on a two-week Resource Verification exercise scheduled for 18th till 30th September, 2022.
The exercise is necessary to inspect and verify resources in the University ahead of the Institutions’ admission process for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.
The first batch of six resource persons visited the College of Engineering and Technology.
The programmes verified included B.Tech Computer Engineering, B.Eng. Civil & Construction Engineering, B.Eng. Electrical & Electronics Engineering, B.Tech Biotechnology & Food Technology, B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering, B.Eng. Mechatronics Engineering and B.Eng. Agricultural Engineering.
The lecture theatre, laboratories and offices of the Dean, Professors and lecturers, in each department as well as the Library Complex were visited.
The Team leader, Prof. Ummah Abdulahi commended Management’s hospitality, support and cooperation extended to the team all through the exercise.
She noted that the University is well equipped enough to kick-off its programmes in the College of Engineering based on the facilities on ground verified by the team. She, however, noted some grey areas where Management needs to tidy-up before the next visit of the National Universities Commission.
The second team of seven resource persons, for the College of Environmental Design and Technology also visited the University on Thursday, 22nd September, 2022.
The Ag. Vice Chancellor, Dr. Oluremi Olaleye appreciated the team for the job well done and assured them that Management will move into action immediately to address the grey areas identified before the next visitation for Accreditation of programmes in the University.
