Nigeria’s Active Mobile Subscribers Hit 219.7m As Of February Ending, As MTN,Glo Dominate | The Legend News

In February 2024, the number of mobile phone subscribers in Nigeria stood at 219.7 million, as reported by Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

This figure, which was 224.4 million in December 2023, but plunged to 218 million in January 2024 with approximately six million lines lost in January 2024 due to the NCC’s directive on the NIN-SIM network.

MTN, Glo and Airtel were identified as the leading telecom companies in the industry, according to the NCC’s data.

MTN continues its leadership with 80,895,695 lines in February, up from 79,784,880 lines in January.

Airtel, on the other hand, increased from 62,601,992 in January to 63,036,167 in February.

Globacom’s subscriber count also increased slightly from 61,926,445 to 62,103,201, while 9mobile fell from 13,646,117 to 12,799,694 in January.

NCC also noted that communication increased from 100.75 percent in January to 101.47 percent in February.
