The Federal Government has increased its proposed new national minimum wage to N62,000, a move that could potentially end the long-standing impasse in negotiations.
Additionally, the organized labour has shown willingness to compromise, reducing its demand from N494,000 to N250,000.
While the Tripartite Committee on New National Minimum Wage has adjourned without an agreement, the progress made is a promising sign. The organized private sector has also expressed support for the government’s offer, adding momentum to the negotiations.
