The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is calling upon stakeholders to provide written feedback on the draft regulatory instruments and to participate in Public Inquiries to be held in Abuja.
In accordance with its responsibilities under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003, the NCC has released the draft regulatory instruments on its official website for stakeholders to review and comment on.
Dr. Reuben Muoka, the Director of Public Affairs at NCC, highlighted the key amendments in the new draft regulations, which include Telecommunications Networks, Interconnection Regulations, Guidelines on Procedure for Granting Approval to Disconnect Telecommunications Operators, and Guidelines on Dispute Resolution.
To facilitate engagement with stakeholders, the NCC has scheduled Public Inquiries for the following dates:
1. Telecommunications Networks Interconnection Regulations (as amended) – Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
2. Guidelines on Procedure for Granting Approval to Disconnect Telecommunications Operators (as amended) – Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
3. Guidelines on Dispute Resolution (as amended) Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
Interested parties are encouraged to submit written comments and participate in the Public Inquiries, which will take place at the NCC Head Office in Maitama District, Abuja, FCT.
All submissions must be received by the Commission no later than Friday, May 10, 2024, and can be sent to the Executive Vice Chairman at the NCC’s address in Abuja. Soft copies of submissions can also be emailed to msyusuf@ncc.gov.ng and cwhyte@ncc.gov.ng.
