Napoli football club of Italy, has emerged champions of Italian football league, after 33 long years waiting, having won their last league trophy in 1987.
The highly determined Napoli players won the Italian league trophy after a 1- 1 draw with Udinese on the historic night of Thursday.
Napoli’s best player of the season, Victor Oshimen scored Napoli’s only goal in the match. The Nigerian-born super star striker, who has been in his form this season scored the goal with his usual excellent finishing. The historic goal landed him in the golden place of football records. It crowned the Nigerian International the highest scoring African footballer of all time in the Seria A. Inaddition, it gave Oshimen the enviable record as the African player with the most number of goals in the Serial A league history. The applauded feat of the 24 year old player, also broke the record of legendary George Weah, the present President of Liberia.
Meanwhile, Napoli’s grand victory has attracted showers of congratulations from football fans globally. “I am Maybelle Boma,Toghu Action Movement Member, Cameroon, the Wait Is over”, he said joyfully.
The title is their third in Serie A, and the first since the reign of the great Maradona, the football legend, who single handedly led Napoli to the title in 1987.
