The wife of a man arrested on suspicion of terrorism, Anuoluwapo Sanni has revealed that her husband was preparing to go out when she noticed that he was dressing unusually. According to a report published by Punch, she said that he wore a Muslim robe, used a cloth to cover his nose and failed to tell her where he was heading for work.
You may recall that the men of the Lagos State Police Command rescued the suspect dressed in hijab from being lynched by a mob in Ijora Badia area of the state. Shortly after his arrest, his wife spoke with journalists and revealed that she tried to stop her husband from going out but he instructed her to get out of his way.
“When he started dressing up to go out, I observed he was dressing unusually. He wore a Muslim robe, used a cloth to cover his nose, put on a hijab, and put on a dark shade. I asked where he was going to work but he didn’t tell me the location.”
She said that shortly after he left the house, she received a call from the police that her husband was arrested on suspicion of terrorism. She added that she tried her best to stop him from leaving the house but he left and didn’t reveal where he was going to work. Anuoluwapo made it clear that her husband is not a terrorist, adding that the police should release him.
