The indomitable Premier League champions, Manchester City Football Club, superbly regain their leadership position in the English Premier League with a 3-0 hammer of West Ham Football Club, on Wednesday night in England.
The high flying Cityzens who are unbeaten in their last 15 Premiership games this season, send their very close challenger Arsenal packing from the top stop the occupied yesterday night in grand style. They showed class and superiority over West Ham, whom they handed over a home defeat last year.
Apart from the display of classical football and deserving defeat by Man City, it was a historical might of football feats and setting of new records. The Cityzens set a record of 10 league games victories among London football. teams. As at the time of this report no term have won more marches in this Premiership season of 2022-23.
Inaddition, Phil Foden who came in from the bench to score the third goal for Manchester City, making it 1,000 goals for the Cityzens in all competitions under manager Pep Guardiola. It’s a landmark attended in just 404 games. This record is a pacesetter and the most by no other side across the European major five leagues since, Guardiola’s reign in the club he joined in 2016.
Most interesting, was Man City’s mercurial striker, Erling Haaland’s superlative second goal in the march. To cap it all, Man City’s win over West Ham on Wednesday night, won each of their gave them a record of 25 Premier League games victories. This is the longest winning record by any club on a specific day in the Premier League history.
Defender Nathan Aké was also in the historic feat scroll. His first goal of the march, was his first Premier League goal for Man City goal since April 2022 v Leeds. It was also his first strike at the Etihad since December 2021. The defender has netted four Premier League goals for Man City, against West Ham, Leeds, Southampton and Liverpool.
Speaking in a post march media interview, Guardiola, the Man City expressed his disappointment despite his big win for not being honoured with a guard of honour for his 1,000 goals in the Man City management. Pep Guardiola, said,: “I didn’t get a guard of honour. Maybe next time…”
