Manchester City recorded a memorable 6-1, victory against Bournemout, to top the premier league on Saturday. City dominated the game with a brilliant display against hopeless Bournemouth who couldn’t match their pace through it the match. Jeremy Doku was the shinning star of the the game. He inspiringly led league defending champions with five assists of City’s six goals and netting one to crown his excellent outing.
The Belgium-born Manchester City winger was unstoppable against Bournemouth as City batter Bournemouth 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium to regain the top place held by Arsenal.
Doku scored the opening goal before supporting his team mates on the other four great goals.The 21-year-old made history as the youngest player in Premier League history to be involved in five goals during one match.
Although Man City was too hot for Bournemout to handle. But strangely, their red-hot sticker Erling Haaland didn’t score a goal. He was not missed in the game as Doku took the spotlight.
City’s new playmaker Doku made the game thrilling for City fans and football lovers. He truly showed the stuff he is made of in the game with fantastic results.
It will be recalled that the last three players to provide four assists in a Premier League game was in 2021. The player was Paul Pogba. (ManU vs Leed). The other player who has this feat is Harry Kane vs Southampton (2020). The latest is Jérémy Doku vs Bournemouth (2023).
With one goal and four assists at the age of 21 years and 161 days, Jérémy Doku has become both the youngest footballer in Premier League history with five goal contribution in a single match as well as the youngest player to assist four goal.
No doubt Man City’s Jeremy Doku will be remembered for his scintillating performance against Bournemouth for his four goal involvement in City’s 6-1 bashing of AFC Bournemouth.
