The President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, Asiwaju Dr. Michael Olawale Cole, CON, has called on the government, both Federal and State to focused on tackling the many salient economic issues facing the Nigeria, and making the most of the opportunity given to it by the Nigerian people to serve.

He made this appeal yesterday at the LCCI 2023 quarterly press conference held in Lagos. Asiwaju Olawale stressed that as a private sector advocacy group with the mandate to promote the business community’s interests, LCCI shall continue to engage relevant government agencies, the media, and other interest groups, where and when necessary, on actionable recommendations for a thriving business community and economy.

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s 2023 third quarter press conference held earlier today. The event was led by the LCCI President, Asiwaju Dr. Michael Olawale Cole, CON flanked by Deputy President of the Chamber, Mr Gabriel Idahosa, FCA, Director General of LCCI, Dr Chinyere Almona, FCA, and LCCI Vice President, Prince Abimbola Olashore.

In attendance also at the press conference are representatives of the country’s foremost press organizations.

The press conference in addition, addressed several pressing national subjects including hot topics of interest surrounding the national economic outlook. These include but not limited to; Review of the second quarter press conference. Global economic development and recovery debates. Local/national economic development amidst new administration realities.

Others include, Monetary policy development as influenced by domestic and external macroeconomic factors. Inflation and finance. Transparency in the downstream sector. Palliatives for Nigerians, and The proposed merger of FIRS, NIMASA, and CUSTOMS.

After these discussions, questions were entertained and responded to by LCCI Executives and other associated business partners of LCCI.
