The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) is partnering with The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) to enhance public safety in the transport sector.
LASEMA disclosed today that plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the organisation for effective collaboration, which commenced in March 2023 have been successfully concluded.
The Permanent Secretary/CEO of the Agency, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu alongside the Director-General NSIB Mr Akin Olateru, today Friday August 4th 2023 expressed their joint commitment to pooling resources, knowledge and expertise to better secure the lives and property of the good people of Lagos.
There has been extensive cooperation this past year with the rail incident in March and the downed aircraft earlier this week and the goal as always, is to move to disaster prevention and risk reduction.
The partnership will encompass training, skills transfer and early warning systems.
