“Illegal operations of PGC, is not only inimical but leads to dwindling financial revenue of government,” Commandant Eweka said.
The Private Guard Company ( PGC ) Department, of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has stopped three (3) Illegal PGCs, as a result of the offence of quackery and other similar offences in the industry.
The PGCs found in this act of quackery, in the state, after thorough search and investigation include the followings below;
I) Divine Assurance Security
ii) Herisco Security
iii) City Guard Limited
In the same vein, the above investigation led to the arrest of one Lucky Ofuma (male), a supposed Managing Director, Divine Assurance Security and one of his employees, John Ambrose Vallah (male), as others have fled and deserted their premises, an act confirming their level of culpability.
The Gallant officers and men of the PGC Department, of the Command, ably headed by Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Eze Onyegbula, made this arrest with the help of actionable and credible intelligence from the good people of the state.
The Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Commandant Edenabu Okoro Eweka msc, acma, cna, while addressing the news men in his office today, Wednesday, 19th October, 2022, said, “it is very important for would – be employers of private guards, to confirm the authenticity of such company, first, before engaging their staff.”
Finally, the Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Commandant Edenabu Okoro Eweka, msc, acma, cna, seized the opportunity of this proactive operation, to appeal to well meaning citizens, of the state and country not to patronize quacks, in the private security industry.
“This is because amongst other things quackery also leads to dwindling revenues of government as well as discourages genuine efforts, of good, disciplined and quality companies in the industry,” he said.
