The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations has commended the State’s Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, for its swift and effective response to emergencies and disasters. The Committee, led by Chairman Dr. Rauf Age-Sulaimon, praised LASEMA’s dedication to saving lives and property during a working visit to the Agency’s control center at Alausa.
Dr. Age-Sulaimon assured that the Committee would prioritize addressing the challenges facing LASEMA, including funding and equipment limitations, to enhance its operations. He also promised to support training opportunities for staff to ensure they are better equipped to handle emergencies.
The Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, appreciated the Committee’s support and appealed to residents to cooperate with first responders during rescue operations to minimize casualties.
