Two persons have been reportedly drowned in a Lagos river while trying to rescued someone from drowning at Baracuda beach, Abraham Adesanya, Ajah Lagos State.
According to information gathered, two adult male were trying to rescue an adult male from drowning before the high tide of the ocean,but unfortunately the two adult male drowned in the lagoon.
Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu,
PS LASEMA, issued a statement which disclosed the situation report of the incident.
It was further stated that “The Agency responded to distress calls concerning an incident at the above location.
“On arrival at the scene of the incident it was reported that two beachgoers had drowned
Further investigation gathered revealed that two adult males died during a failed rescue attempt of a third adult male.
“The life guard stationed at the beach reported that the victims had ventured beyond the red line. Solo rescue is prohibited beyond these limits; which is why he was unable to attempt it.
However, the agency’s LRT and Paramedics are on ground.
Search and rescue operation are ongoing at the scene, he added.
