JUST IN: LASEMA Discovers Dead Body Of A Man Who Jumped Into Lagos Lagoon | The Legend News

Early hour of  Thursday, August 10,2023, the Agency received a  distress call, and promptly responded to the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge.

Eye witnesses said that an adult male had plunged into the lagoon. Despite our efforts to prevent it, the individual managed to evade restraint and jumped into the water.

According to Permanent Secretary/CEO, LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu,who disclosed this in a statement,it states that upon notification, LASWA officials were immediately informed about the incident. Regrettably, attempts to rescue the person were unsuccessful. However, the body of the unidentified adult male has been successfully retrieved and secured by our agency’s LRT team.

After two days of intensive search and rescue operations, the body of the man that jumped from Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge into lagoon has been recovered by the Lagos State Emergency and Rescue team in the state.

The body of the man, who was said to be a dispatch rider, was recovered from the lagoon and badged immediately for onward movement to the Lagos morgue by the State Environmental Health Management Unit (SEHMU).
