A tanker conveying 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) outbound Mile 2 has fallen on its side, spilling its contents at the Alaba Express Busstop, Apapa Oshodi Expressway in Amuwo-Odofin area of Lagos state.
According to Eye witness,it was revealed that the fully loaded fuel tanker was involved in an accident and overturned as a result of head on collision between the tanker and a motorcycle.
Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider was crushed to death underneath the tanker and its contents poured on the road.Thereby causing hazards to other motorists and passersby at the scene of the incident.

PS LASEMA, it was stated that the “Agency has responded to an incident at the above location in which a fuel laden tanker has overturned due to a collision between the tanker and a motorcycle.
“Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider was crushed to death underneath the tanker and its contents are spilling on the road rendering the scene extremely hazardous to other motorists and passersby.
“The agency working with LASTMA, LSNC, Nigerian Police are working to secure the scene and carry out secondary incident containment measures while the heavy duty equipment to remove the tanker is enroute.
” Residents are urged to avoid any naked flame until the incident is contained,he added.
