Nigerian Actor, musician and pastor, and Jimmy Odukoya has been appointed the Senior Pastor of His Father’s Church Fountain Of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos. He now takes over from his late father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.
This comes after the sudden deàth of his father Taiwo Odukoya. The actor turned pastor took over the leadership of the church as the new Senior Pastor, The legend news learnt took immediate effect from today.
With this wave of leadership change, Pastor Jimmy’s elder his sister, Pastor Tolu Ijogun becomes the Assistant Senior Pastor, also known as Associate Pastor .
Jimmy Odukoya who is Successor of his late father and his Sister are the children of the Church founded by their late celebrated parents Pastors Bimbo and Taiwo Odukoya, of blessed memory.
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, who was the former Senior Pastor of the church died in August 2023, in the United States. He was aged 67.
The preacher, addressed as God’s General, built his Church headquarters in the Ilupeju area of Lagos. He was colourfully buried on September 9, in a private ceremony attended by family members and close associates. This was after his magnificent funeral service held in his Church. It was attached by eminent dignitaries such as Her Excellency, Mrs Dolapo Osibanjo, wife of the former Vice-President, Professor Osinbajo; Pastors Sam and Nike Adeyemi, Bishop David Abioye, Bishops Mike and Peace Okonkwo, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Pastors Dolapo Kwapowe, Itua Matthew Ashimolowo, Ighodalo, Bishop Fev Idahosa, among others
Late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya
The announcement of Jimmy Odukoya’s elevation was made today by Rotimi Okpaise, a pastor, in the Church. He said the late Odukoya confided in the Board of Trustees (BoT) members about the succession plan after his transmission.
According to Okpaise, the BoT unanimously elected Jimmy as the Senior Pastor and chairperson of the board.
“The board has chosen Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the date of Jimmy’s installation,” he said.
It would be recalled that Pastor Odukoya died less than two years after the death of his 47-year-old South African wife, Nomthi Odukoya. She died in November 2021 after battling with with cancer for two years.They were married for 11 years and had two boys, Timilehin and Jomiloju Odukoya.
Late Pastor Taiwo married Nomthi after the painful loss of his first wife, the popular televangelist and marriage counselor, Pastor Bimbo. She died when a Sosoliso plane crash in 2005.
His blessed union with Bimbo produced three children, including Tolu Odukoya-Ijogun, Jimmy Odukoya and Tobi Enuha
