Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, has condemned a viral video in which some individuals wearing branded PDP uniforms were seen campaigning for the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
WITHIN NIGERIA previously reported that some members of the opposition party campaigned for Peter Obi during the Saturday street campaign.
One PDP member advised a resident to vote for the former Anambra State governor in the presidential election and Jandor in the gubernatorial election.
Adediran, on the other hand, said in a statement issued through the Head, Media, and Communications, JANDOR4GOVERNOR Campaign Organisation, Gbenga Ogunleye, that the ostensible campaign for Peter Obi was a smear.
Jandor distanced himself from the anti-party activity and promised that if the perpetrators were found to be party members, they would be sanctioned.
He also urged PDP members to disregard the video and remain steadfast in their determination to change the federal government by voting for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
He said:
The action carried out by some unidentified individuals in the party uniforms does not in any way represent the position of Lagos PDP in the forthcoming presidential election.
I enjoin all Lagos PDP members and the good people of the state to ignore the said video.
PDP members should remain resolute in their conviction to change the government at the federal level by voting massively for Atiku/Okowa ticket which promises to rescue the nation from the current hardship.
