Upon hearing about the incident of a missing baby in ATBUTH, the suspect was reported to security operatives in the area by her mates. DSS operatives were immediately notified and the woman was arrested and taken in for interrogations. According to Punch Ng, the suspect confessed that she stole the baby because of the frustrations she is passing through. It was alleged that she was mocked by her mates and family members because she wasn’t able to give her husband a child.
The mother of the stolen baby, Bilkisu Alhassan narrated to journalists how the culprit was able to deceive her. She explained that the suspect approached her, disguised as a nurse, and told her that the baby was not been fed well. The mother of the baby said that the culprit took the baby from her and claimed that she was taking him to the children’s room for examinations.
