Nigerian chef and entrepreneur, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has received the official certificate of her record holder status after she broke the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual”.
This is coming after the chef surpassed the 87-hour mark with 45 minutes on Monday morning.
Prior to now, an Indian chef, Lata Tondon was the holder of the world’s longest cooking marathon record.
The Indian chef had completed the task in 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs in Rewa, India in 2019.
Celebrating her feat and her certificate, Hilda wrote on Twitter saying: “We made history Thank you for all the love,Thank you.”
A video documentation recorded by the BBC quotes Hilda as saying that she wanted to prove that something good can come out from Nigeria.
