A fully loaded gas tanker with registration number BRA-179XA was involved in a solitary accident and fell by its side.
The cause of the accident was as a result of overspeeding of the tanker driver and suddenly rammed into the vehicle in front of it.The accident occurred at Epe bridge in Lagos.
According to an eye withness,there was no loss of life but the driver of the gas tanker sustained some degrees of injuries and has been rushed to General hospital (Epe) for immediate medical attention.
Permanent Secretary,LASEMA,Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, signed and issued a statement,it states”Upon the arrival of the LRT at the incident scene,it was discovered that a loaded gas tanker with registration number BRA-179XA was involved in a solitary accident.
PS LASEMA Further said that investigation gathered at the scene indicates that the gas tanker fell as a result of overspeeding and rammed into the vehicle in front of it.
There was no loss of life but the driver of the gas tanker sustained injury and has been rushed to General hospital (Epe) for medical attention.
He said “The agency responders are working alongside the FRSC, LASTMA and Lagos State Fire Service are on ground to ensure the safety of motorists along Epe bridge.
“The Agency’s crane has been dispatched for swift recovery of the gas tanker, operation still in progress,and more updates to follow,he added.
