There was a fire outbreak at Kitchen Market, Adebiaye Street, Behind Tejuosho Market, Surulere, Lagos.
As at press time, it was observed that Kitchen Plaza comprising of several shops dealing in tailoring materials, clothings and industrial machines was engulfed by a wild fire .
No loss of life nor injuries recorded. However, lots of properties were destroyed as a result of the fire.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu .
It was stated that ” Upon arrival at the incident scene, it was observed that Kitchen Plaza comprising of several shops dealing in tailoring materials, clothings and industrial machines was engulfed by a wild fire .
” Investigation conducted at the incident scene revealed that the fire started at about 3:50pm when an unknown woman was trying to refuel a working petrol generator.
Fortunately no loss of life nor injuries recorded. However, lots of properties were destroyed as a result of the fire. The fire also destroyed four rooms in an adjacent church Devine Gospel Deliverance Church.
Emergency responders at the scene are the Agency’s LRT, LASEMA Fire Unit, Lagos State Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, Surulere LGA and NPF. The fire that’s been brought under control, the fire has been prevented from spreading to adjoining residential building.
