A fire broke out at the Christ Embassy Church headquarters in Lagos on Sunday morning, causing significant damage to the property. The church, located in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State, and owned by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, was preparing for Sunday service when the incident occurred.
The LASEMA, Lagos State Fire and other Rescue Service responded promptly to the scene, and firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze.
According to the report, a witness, tweeting as Chief_Augustin1 on X.com wrote, “Christ Embassy Church on Billings Way, Oregun, is on fire.
“Serious fire is raging, and men of the Lagos State Fire Service are working hard to put it off. Thank God service hasn’t commenced fully.”
The cause of the fire is not yet known, and an investigation is likely to follow. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, and the situation is being closely monitored.
