The Federal Government has suspended the officers in charge of the Maximum and Minimum Custodial Centres in Kirikiri, Lagos State, following allegations that they collected N15 million from popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky .
Bobrisky was convicted of a crime and sentenced to six months in jail but was allegedly given an apartment outside the custodial centre.
The suspension was announced by Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.
