Blueprint Newspapers on Tuesday presented its prestigious “Governor of the Year Award 2021 ” to Ekiti State Governor and Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum ( NGF), Dr Kayode Fayemi.
The award ceremony, which was the 11th edition organized by the Abuja based Newspapers organization took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
In a brief citation by the organizers, the newspaper said the award was predicated on Dr Fayemi’s wholesale strategic repositioning of Ekiti State in the last four years.
This they posited was further validated by the resounding electoral victory of the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidates, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in the June 18, 2022 Governorship poll in Ekiti “which earned Dr Fayemi the envious accolade as the first Governor to install a successor in the state”
Presenting the award, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni said Dr Fayemi is a good pick for the award in view of his widely aknoledged leadership qualities.
Receiving the award, Governor Fayemi who was represented by his Special Adviser, Strategy, Media and External Relations, Mr Femi Ige thanked the organizers for the recognition, saying it will ginger him to work more for Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.
