The Nigerian entertainment industry has bid a final farewell to the beloved comic actor, John Okafor, fondly known as Mr. Ibu. His funeral ceremony, held in his hometown of Amuri, Enugu State, was a poignant tribute to his life and legacy. The event was attended by friends, family, and colleagues who gathered to pay their respects to the late thespian.

The ceremony was a culmination of events organized by the Nigeria Actors Guild and Mr. Ibu’s family to honor his memory. Earlier this month, a candlelight procession was held in Abuja to pay tribute to Mr. Ibu and other departed actors. A novelty football match was also organized by Rangers International Football Club and celebrities to celebrate his life.

Mr. Ibu’s courageous battle with illness was well-known, and his passing on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62, was met with an outpouring of grief from fans and the entertainment industry. His legacy as a comic icon and beloved actor will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on through the joy and laughter he brought to countless fans.
