In compliance to Abuja FCT, Federal High Court Order, The Department of State Services(DSS), has announced that they have sued the suspended CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele to court for prosecution.
Dr. Peter Afunanya, DSS spokesperson in a statement released yesterday by the DSS spokesperson confirmed their action.
He said,:the DSS had earlier, in 2022, applied for a Court Order to detain him in respect of a criminal investigation. Though, Mr Emefiele had obtained a restraining order from an FCT High Court, the DSS however, arrested him in June, 2023, on the strength of suspected fresh criminal infractions and information, one of which forms the basis for his current prosecution”.
In the same statement, DSS assures the public of professionalism, justice and fairness in handling Emefiele’s case and indeed the discharge of its duties within the confines of the law applied.
