Senator Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2023 Kogi State governorship election, has demanded for a total cancellation of the just concluded Kogi State Governorship election by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.
Melaye made this demand shortly in a few statement released via his X account said the results are were ‘cooked’ in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He explained that the total ofcancellation of the November 11 2023 off-cycle election in Kogi State is the way forward.
Displaying a election result sheet from one of the local government areas in the state, Okene, the Maleye wrote: “Okene LG alone wrote 138,416 for APC. This cooked result can’t be accepted. Total Cancellation is the Answer.”
Earlier, it was reported Melaye was defeated in the governorship election, especially in his Ijumu local government area of Kogi State.

According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Melaye was totally defeated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Usman Ododo, who has been declared the winner of the election held on Saturday, 11th November, 2023.
Ododo, the APC candidate got 10,524 votes defeat Melaye of the PDP, who got 6,909 votes in the votes cast in the local government area.
