Clarifying Facts: Dangote Refinery Addresses IPMAN Misunderstandings | The Legend News

In a statement, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has sought to clarify its position regarding the Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN). The refinery firmly asserts that it has not received any payments from IPMAN for the purchase of refined petroleum products.

The statement which was signed by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Dangote Industries Limited,on October 31st, 2024.

According to the statement, it was noted that while discussions with IPMAN are still ongoing, it is important to note that there is no basis for claims suggesting that IPMAN members are facing challenges in loading refined products from our facility. Currently, there are no direct business transactions between Dangote Refinery and IPMAN, and therefore, we cannot be held accountable for any payments made to third parties.

The payments in question were made through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), and it is crucial to clarify that we have not received any authorization from NNPCL to supply Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to IPMAN.

We want to reassure all stakeholders that Dangote Refinery is fully capable of meeting the nation’s demand for various petroleum products, including petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel. Our operations are robust, with the capacity to load 2,900 trucks daily, in addition to our maritime evacuation of petroleum products. We encourage IPMAN to engage with us directly and make payments to facilitate their members’ needs, as we have ample supply available.

We also urge all parties involved to avoid making unfounded claims in the media, as such actions can hinder the economic initiatives led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Engaging in public speculation is not only unproductive but also undermines national interests.

In the spirit of collaboration and national progress, we call on all stakeholders to work together and follow President Tinubu’s guidance, fostering unity instead of indulging in media disputes and unnecessary propaganda.
