Former Captain of Nigeria’s female National team, the Super Falcons, Desire Oparanozie has retired from professional football.
The Nigerian-born international who was at the last Women World Cup bid farewell to football at age 29 years.
The fantastic striker make the announcement of her retirement on her official Twitter, X account today, Wednesday, 13th September, 2023.
Oparanozie who has successfully played for Nigeria in FIFA Women’s World and other top global competition has been in the Super Falcons since 2010
“To my fans, family, and friends, thank you for the show of love and support over the years. It’s time to take a bow, as I believe there’s no better time than now. I’m officially announcing my retirement from professional football for both club and country”, she said on her Twitter account.
