Leon Balogun excited after his unveiling

Leon Balogun, Super Eagles central defender has returned to Rangers Football Club of Scotland for the new 2023-24 season. The hard working footballer signed a contract with the Scottish giant on Wednesday.
in a official statement released on Wednesday on her website on, Rangers announced their one-year signing of Balogun. He made it the seventh signing for the club in this summer transfer window.
“Rangers are delighted to welcome Leon Balogun back to Rangers, with the central defender signing a one-year deal with the club, subject to international clearance,” the club wrote.
To Balogun, it is a return to home. He had played for Rangers between 2020 to 2022 seasons, before moving to England.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles defender is excited to rejoin the club. He also joined the team in their training camp in Germany.
“I am just excited to be honest, it is still a bit unreal but it is very real, so I am just really really happy to be back at Rangers – it feels like coming home.
“Since I have left, I have always felt a lot of appreciation and love from friends I have made in Glasgow and around the club and now that I am back it is nice to say the least.
“I know second is no option, I know what people are going to say very quickly if we are not performing so it is time to get to work, put our best foot forward and make sure we get the results that we need”, he said from Germany.
The Nigerian-born defender debuted In Scotland with Rangers in 2020, and won the Scottish Premier League title in 2021. He added the Scottish Cup title in 2022.
The 35-year-old helped Rangers to make it the Europa League final in 2022 with Nigerian team mate Joe Aribo, but they narrowly lost to Frankfurt of Germany on penalties.
He has also has a successful spell in Germany before moving to England and Scotland. In Germany, Balogun played for Hannover 96, Werder Bremen, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Mainz 05.
When he moved to England, he played for Premier League club, Brighton and Hove Albion. Before his new done deal with Rangers, he played last season with English Championship club, Queens Park Rangers, QPR.
Finally, Michael Beale, the Rangers coach remarks on Balogun’s signing: “Leon is a person that I have full trust in both as a footballer and a man.
“He is extremely well-liked by everyone inside the club, and we are very happy to have someone with his experience and leadership qualities re-joining our squad.”
