Nigerian superstar Asisat Oshoala has made history again. The talented striker has won the UEFA Women’s Champions League Best Goal award for the 2023/24 season. Her stunning bicycle kick for Barcelona against Benfica in their opening group game was voted the best goal of the competition by UEFA’s Technical Observer panel.
Oshoala’s incredible goal was the icing on the cake for Barcelona, who went on to win the Champions League for the second consecutive season. And despite making a mid-season move to Bay FC in the United States, Oshoala still received a winner’s medal and made history as the first African to win three UEFA Women’s Champions League titles.
UEFA praised Oshoala’s goal, saying it was a “stunning bicycle kick” that took the top spot among the top 10 goals of the competition. And it’s no surprise – Oshoala’s skill and talent on the field are truly inspiring!
Congratulations to Asisat Oshoala on this well-deserved award. We can’t wait to see what she achieves next .
