Our attention has been drawn to an erroneous and fake narrative in circulation on social media about the newly recognized executive team of APC South Africa Chapter under the leadership of Otunba (Hon.) Oluwatoyin Olamilere Oyekanmi vis a vis, the APC Headquarter in Abuja Nigeria.
The entire Executives of the South Africa Chapter do humbly wish to inform the general public that such fake news should be ignored and consigned to the trash can, where it belongs. Ordinarily, we would not have bothered to respond to such ridiculous claims but for the sake of unsuspecting progressive-minded members within the party chapter in South Africa and Nigeria, we would state the facts here :
It’s on record that there was a reconciliation and electoral process within the party chapter in South Africa, that was duly supervised by the Ambassador of the Nigerian Embassy in South Africa; His Excellency Ambassador Muhammad Manta.
This electoral process culminated in the general election of 9th December 2022 which ushered into office a united executive office headed by Otunba (Hon.) Oluwatoyin Olamilere Oyekanmi. The validation of this mandate was supported with an official recognition letter from the APC- headquarters in Abuja, signed and sealed by the National Secretariat on the 18th of January 2023, with an official communication to the newly elected executives.
And as a result of this, the newly elected executives equally decided to be magnanimous in their victory by opening their doors to all and everyone to come together under one umbrella so as to have a strong and united chapter in South Africa.
Efforts were equally made to speak with one voice and redeemed the battered image of the chapter back at home in Abuja Nigeria by the newly elected executives. But unfortunately, some disgruntled elements and bad losers within us, still went ahead to portray the newly elected and duly recognized executives in a bad image. They did not stop at that alone but equally went further to malign the APC Headquarter officials with unsubstantiated and ridiculous claims, just to bring down this legitimate and democratically elected executive team.
Nevertheless, we do humbly wish to inform the general public that we are not bothered, by their useless and baseless accusations but rather mainly focused and concerned with the forthcoming presidential election of our principal come 25th of February, 2023.
We therefore vehemently refused to be distracted by these disgruntled elements, because no amount of blackmailing nor fake news circulation will stop APC SA under the leadership of Otunba Hon. Oluwatoyin Olamilere Oyekanmi and his newly elected executive officers from working and delivering on its mandate.
As it is at the moment, we are forging ahead to constitute the South Africa Presidential Campaign Council that will complement the efforts of the mother body from the Diaspora.
Conclusively, we sincerely want to use this opportunity to advise all idle hands and all un-progressive elements circulating this fake alert; to get busy by working and using their precious time to canvas for votes for our principal, instead of running after shadows.
Finally, we equally want to use this opportunity to further appreciate the efforts of our indefatigable Nigerian High Commissioner to South Africa and all other progressives minded party loyalists to kindly keep calm and continue working towards the success of our principal Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
