Godswill Akpabio, Niger Delta Affairs minister, has resigned his position to pursue his presidential ambition.
Mr Akpabio, according to Jackson Udom, his aide, stepped down on Wednesday, hours after President Muhammadu Buhari asked his ministers to emulate junior education minister, Emeka Nwajiuba, who earlier resigned.
Mr Udom, quoted by The Nation, confirmed the resignation of his principal which he said has been forwarded to Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
“The Minister has resigned,” the media aide noted. “He has submitted his resignation letter to the SGF. We are waiting for him at the ICC, where he is coming to submit his nomination form”.
