On Monday morning, 25th of September,2023, a section of the Supreme Court complex in the Three-Arm-Zone, Abuja, caught fire, causing panic among court staff. The fire, which started around 7am, led to an evacuation of the building but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The extent of the damage to sensitive documents and files is currently unknown.
According to sources, the fire may have been caused by an electrical malfunction in one of the administrative offices.
Three offices within the complex, including that of Justice Mohammed Saulawa, were affected before the fire was extinguished. The court has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
