Veteran Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade, has clarified that he is not depressed.

The Eagle Online recalls that days ago, the Lecturer and actor posted on his social media page on surviving in Nigeria.

In the post, he said to survive in Nigeria, one must belong to a cult, using the hashtag: “Depression,” which created the impression he was depressed.

But in an interview with The Eagle Online, the veteran actor stated that he is not depressed, while noting that he posted what he felt like posting.

Solade said: “I am not depressed.

“I am a professor and a word smith.

“I was just playing with words and everywhere started buzzing.

“I never said I was depressed.

“I just said to survive in Nigeria….

“It is what I felt like writing and I did.

“I am an entertainer.

“I have been making people happy since the 80s.

“If anyone says what I didn’t say, my lawyers will write to that person.

“I prefer when people call me to ask about my career, salient issues in the country.

“There are things that are not right in the country and some people have been taught to accept it like that, saying: ‘It is well.’

“They won’t say things as it is.

“Because some pentecostal bigots have succeeded in turning people’s head upside down.

“Some of us attend churches in England and we see the big differences.

“You have been talking to me for sometime now, do I sound depressed?

“I am not depressed.

“I woke up early in the morning and posted what I felt like.

“I am a doctor’s doctor because I make him happy when he is sad.

“If you are depressed, speak to your loved ones and stay around people that make you happy, then you will come out from it.”
