A tanker carrying 45,000 litres of PMS was discovered to have fallen on its side and spilled its contents at Ajayi Road, Ogba. It was determined that the accident occurred when the tanker swerved to avoid collision with an oncoming vehicle, resulting in it falling into a ditch.
According to the statement issued by the Permanent Secretary,LASEMA,Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu

He said that fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries as a result of the incident. The LRT, in conjunction with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Nigeria Police Force, are present at the scene to control the crowd and restrict access to the area.
“In an effort to educate residents about the environmental dangers posed by the incident, the LRT conducted sensitization and public enlightenment campaigns. Additionally, all vehicular activities have been restricted in the area to prevent any secondary incidents, and cooking or burning of any sort has been discouraged.
The LRT is currently waiting for an empty tanker to arrive in order to begin trans-loading of the spilled product. The operation is still ongoing.
