Lagos State Intensifies Its Preparedness Efforts In Anticipation Of Imminent Opening Of Flood Gates | The Legend News

 

The Lagos State government is increasing its level of preparedness in anticipation of the opening of the flood gates of Lagdo Dam in Cameroon.

According to a statement issued by the permanent secretary,LASEMA,
Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu.

It states that the government agency, LASEMA has taken comprehensive measures to shift from response to proactive disaster management, including educating and promoting awareness in areas historically affected by flooding, empowering local emergency management committees, enhancing the early warning systems, and clearing drainage and gutters at both the state and local government levels.

With improved infrastructure, the state is on high alert to tackle any upcoming challenges. Lagosians are advised to remain calm during this period.
