The Public Relations officer of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has recently revealed the unfortunate incident that occurred somewhere in Lagos on Tuesday. According to him, a 30 year old worker fell from a building top and died.
The Police officer revealed that the worker was not putting on any personal protective equipment (PPE) when the unfortunate incident happened. He added that the incident happened within a standard company where he believes the use of PPEs should have been mandatory.
Ben pointed that it is very important for all organisations to have a health, protection and environment officers to monitor and enforce the use of PPEs among workers.
Taking to his official social media page on Wednesday, he wrote: ”Just yesterday, somewhere in Lagos state, a 30-year-old worker fell off an 18-meter-high roof to his death. He was not wearing a harness nor other PPEs. This was in a standard company not a shanty. Seriously, there is need for all organizations to have active HSE officers!”
